CrimeCanada.ca Safety Perspective

From the perspective of CrimeCanada.ca, alerts involving firearms and individuals believed to be armed are critical for the safety of communities across Saskatchewan. When someone is wanted on firearm-related charges and is not in custody, the risk to bystanders and responding officers increases, particularly in smaller centres and regional travel corridors such as those around Nipawin, Carrot River, and the greater Prince Albert area.

For your safety, avoid attempting to intervene or detain any wanted person yourself. Instead, note as many details as safely possible—such as clothing, direction of travel, vehicle description, and companions—and provide that information to police. Reporting suspicious or unusual activity early can help prevent violence, protect vulnerable residents, and support RCMP efforts to resolve these investigations safely. Community awareness and timely reporting are key tools in reducing gun-related harm and maintaining safer streets for everyone.
