On the evening of May 14, 2026, Yorkton RCMP received a report that an inmate had escaped custody from the Whitespruce Provincial Training Centre in Saskatchewan. The man, identified as 34-year-old Duncan Highway, was last seen at the facility at approximately 6:15 p.m., and a short time later was observed being picked up by a black GMC Terrain SUV.

Police have now charged Highway with being unlawfully at large and are actively searching for him and the vehicle involved. Officers are checking locations he is known to visit, following up on leads, and urging the public across Saskatchewan—especially those in and around Yorkton and areas where crime activity is monitored, such as the Douglas No. 436 region crime and safety data—to report any sightings immediately. His current whereabouts are unknown, and he is believed to have ties to Saskatoon.
