A serious assault investigation is underway after a youth was found with life-threatening injuries outside a school on Shore Rd. in Eskasoni, Nova Scotia. The incident occurred in the early hours of April 19, 2026, and has led to an aggravated assault charge against a 19-year-old man from Wagmatcook.

According to the Eskasoni RCMP Detachment, officers and EHS paramedics responded at approximately 4:05 a.m. to a report of an injured youth outside the school. Following an altercation between the youth and an adult man, witnessed by several people, the youth collapsed and was later transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The suspect has been identified and charged, and the investigation remains active.
