On the morning of March 29, 2026, Fort Chipewyan RCMP responded to a serious disturbance at a home on Loutit Street in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta. Officers arrived at approximately 6:17 a.m. and found an adult victim suffering from substantial facial injuries.

Police identified an 18-year-old resident of Fort Chipewyan as the suspect. The individual was arrested at the scene without further incident and is now facing a serious violent offence charge. The victim was first treated at the local Nursing Station and then transported by air to a hospital in the Edmonton area for further care. The injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.
