Kelowna RCMP arrest suspect after late-night robbery and crime spree

As additional reports came in to the RCMP 911 Operational Communications Centre, officers learned that a man matching the same description was allegedly attempting to forcefully take other vehicles while moving north through Kelowna toward Rutland. A male suspect was located in the 3000-block of Sexsmith Road, where he had allegedly broken into a home and then tried to escape using a vehicle. He was arrested without further incident and the investigation has since been taken over by the Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section.

- At approximately 11:30 p.m. on March 26, 2026, police received a report of a robbery and vehicle theft near Bredin Road and Kent Road in Kelowna, British Columbia.
- An employee of a nearby automotive shop, out on a road test in a customer’s vehicle, was allegedly confronted by an unknown man who displayed a weapon and stole the vehicle.
- The suspect allegedly left the employee at the roadside and continued northbound through Kelowna, where further attempts were reportedly made to forcibly take additional vehicles.
- Frontline officers, assisted by the Proactive Enforcement Unit, Crime Reduction Unit, Target Team, School Resource Officer Unit, and Integrated Crisis Response Team, coordinated their response to locate the suspect.
- Officers ultimately found the man in the 3000-block of Sexsmith Road after he had allegedly broken into a residence and then tried to flee in a vehicle.
- The suspect was taken into custody without further confrontation, and investigators worked into the following day to gather evidence.
The accused has been identified by police as Conrad Loss-Wells of Kelowna. He appeared in court on March 27, 2026, where multiple charges were approved. As reported by the RCMP, these charges include:
- Robbery
- Break and enter
- Forcible confinement
- Mischief
- Assault
- Obstructing a Peace Officer
Loss-Wells remains in custody and is scheduled for his next court appearance on April 2, 2026.
