Community Alert: Drugs and Loaded Guns Seized Near Nipawin Rollover
On March 24, 2026, Nipawin RCMP responded to a reported single-vehicle rollover near Codette, Saskatchewan. When officers arrived, they found an adult woman at the crash scene and learned that an adult man who had also been in the vehicle had left before police got there.

During their search of the rolled-over vehicle, officers seized:
- A sawed-off firearm
- A loaded handgun
- Ammunition
- Approximately 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- Approximately 15 grams of suspected fentanyl
- Approximately 149 unidentified pharmaceutical-style pills

Accused and Charges Laid
As a result of the investigation to date, 45-year-old Genevieve McKay has been charged with multiple offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Criminal Code, including drug trafficking and firearms violations. The charges are as follows:
- One count of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- One count of possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- One count of possession of fentanyl, contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, contrary to Section 91(1) of the Criminal Code
- One count of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, contrary to Section 91(2) of the Criminal Code
- Two counts of unsafe storage of a firearm, contrary to Section 86(2) of the Criminal Code
- Three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition in a motor vehicle, contrary to Section 94(1) of the Criminal Code
- One count of unlicensed possession of a firearm with ammunition, contrary to Section 95(1) of the Criminal Code
- One count of possession of a weapon obtained by crime, contrary to Section 96(1) of the Criminal Code
- One count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, contrary to Section 88 of the Criminal Code
