Saskatchewan RCMP SERT operation related to fentanyl and cocaine seizures in Moose Jaw and Swift Current

Saskatchewan RCMP SERT conducted coordinated drug trafficking enforcement operations, seizing fentanyl and cocaine in Moose Jaw and Swift Current.

RCMP Alert: Major Fentanyl and Cocaine Seizures in Moose Jaw & Swift Current

Section 1: Community Safety Alert Overview

On April 10, 2026, the Saskatchewan RCMP Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Team (SERT) carried out coordinated drug enforcement operations in both Moose Jaw and Swift Current, Saskatchewan. These actions are tied to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation that began with a March 9, 2026 seizure of illicit drugs and a prohibited firearm at a residence in Regina.

Across two separate search warrants executed at a hotel in Moose Jaw and an apartment in Swift Current, officers seized substantial quantities of suspected fentanyl and cocaine, along with cash and trafficking-related materials. Four adult males have been arrested and charged in connection with these operations, which are significant for public safety given the extreme risk fentanyl poses to the community.

Section 3: CrimeCanada.ca Safety Perspective

From the perspective of CrimeCanada.ca, this case highlights the serious public health and safety threat posed by the trafficking of fentanyl and cocaine in Saskatchewan communities. Even small amounts of fentanyl can be lethal, and the quantities seized in Moose Jaw and Swift Current represent a significant risk had they reached the street. These enforcement actions demonstrate that organized trafficking activity is not limited to large urban centres; smaller cities and regional hubs can also be targeted by groups moving illicit substances.

Community members can support safer neighbourhoods by promptly reporting suspected drug trafficking, unusual short-stay traffic at residences, and evidence of drug dealing around hotels, apartment buildings, and parking lots to their local RCMP detachment or municipal police service. If you encounter any substance that could be fentanyl or other street drugs, do not handle it directly. Seek immediate medical help in emergencies and consider keeping a naloxone kit if you or someone you know may be at risk of exposure. CrimeCanada.ca remains committed to providing transparent safety data and alerts so residents can stay informed and engaged in preventing drug-related harm.
