Section 1: The Alert
The RCMP Federal Policing Pacific Region (FPPR) Drugs and Organized Crime Team, based in Kelowna, has carried out a major enforcement operation targeting organized drug trafficking in British Columbia’s Southeast District. On December 17, 2025, coordinated search warrants were executed on multiple vehicles and residences in both Kelowna and Penticton, BC, resulting in arrests and the seizure of significant quantities of illicit drugs, cash, tobacco, and firearms.
This operation follows an investigation that began in 2024 into suspected organized drug trafficking activities in the region. The RCMP reports that the combined seizures represent a substantial interruption of organized crime activity linked to the distribution of dangerous controlled substances and unlawful weapons in local communities.

Section 3: Crime Canada Safety Perspective
From the perspective of CrimeCanada.ca, seizures of this scale highlight how deeply organized crime and the illegal drug trade can affect communities across Canada, not only in large urban centres but also in regional hubs like Kelowna and Penticton. Large quantities of substances such as methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, GHB, and diverted prescription pills are directly linked to overdoses, addiction, and associated violence. The presence of a stolen rifle and a prohibited handgun further raises the risk to both the public and law enforcement.
Community safety is strengthened when residents remain alert to suspicious activity around homes, storage locations, and vehicles – especially where there are frequent short visits at odd hours, chemical odours, or signs of drug trafficking. While the RCMP has not requested specific public assistance in this case, CrimeCanada.ca encourages citizens across Canada to report suspected drug trafficking, illegal firearms activity, or organized crime presence to their local RCMP detachment or police service, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers where available. Taking action early can help prevent overdoses, reduce the flow of illegal weapons, and support ongoing investigations aimed at dismantling organized crime networks.
