The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Ontario has concluded a two‑month investigation that, according to police, shut down a major illicit cannabis distribution operation based in south Ottawa. This investigation began after Canada Post reported a suspicious parcel destined for the Northwest Territories containing a large quantity of cannabis and related products. Working with Canada Post, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and FINTRAC, RCMP investigators traced the activity to an online website referred to as “Culture Cannabis Canada,” which was allegedly being used to accept orders and ship prohibited products nationwide.

CrimeCanada.ca Safety Perspective for Ontario

From the perspective of CrimeCanada.ca, this case highlights how illicit drug networks can operate across Canada using seemingly ordinary services such as postal delivery and online storefronts. Even in a province like Ontario, where cannabis is legal under specific regulations, large‑scale unlicensed distribution and the inclusion of substances such as psilocybin and unstamped tobacco bring serious public health, youth‑exposure, and organized crime risks. Residents who encounter suspicious parcel activity, unlicensed online cannabis vendors, or bulk shipping of drug‑related products are encouraged to report it to local law enforcement.
