CrimeCanada.ca Safety Perspective

From a CrimeCanada.ca perspective, incidents like this highlight the importance of securing delivered goods and monitoring business properties during early-morning hours. Theft of packages can impact both businesses and individuals, and it often occurs quickly, with suspects relying on quiet streets and limited witnesses. While each community has its own crime profile – as seen in regional crime statistics such as those for New Credit (Part) 40A in Ontario – vigilance and prompt reporting are key safety tools everywhere in Canada, including New Brunswick.

To reduce the risk of similar thefts, businesses and residents are encouraged to consider measures such as secure delivery drop points, motion-activated lighting, and surveillance cameras positioned to capture both people and vehicles. Most importantly, if you notice unusual activity around businesses or delivery areas, note details like time, vehicle description, and direction of travel, and share that information with police. Community cooperation with the RCMP plays a vital role in resolving property crimes and maintaining a safe environment for everyone.
