CrimeCanada.ca Safety Perspective
From the perspective of CrimeCanada.ca, incidents involving imitation or replica firearms are a growing public safety concern across Manitoba. Community members are encouraged to treat any sighting of a suspected firearm with utmost seriousness. If you witness someone displaying a gun or what appears to be a gun, move to a safe location if possible and contact police immediately by calling 911 or your local RCMP detachment. Avoid confronting the person yourself. In public facilities such as hospitals, schools, and government buildings, report any violent or escalating disputes to staff or security as early as possible so they can seek assistance promptly.
Our mission at CrimeCanada.ca is to support safer communities by providing timely information, data-driven context, and practical safety guidance.
