Creston RCMP are warning residents and businesses about an increase in reports of fuel thefts throughout the Creston Valley, police said in a release on October 29, 2026.
According to the RCMP, officers have recently responded to several incidents in which gasoline and diesel were stolen from vehicles, particularly work trucks. In some cases, thieves went after auxiliary fuel storage tanks, commonly known as tidy tanks.
Cpl. Brett Urano, a media relations officer for the BC RCMP, said the thefts can hit people who depend on their vehicles hard.
