In the early hours of March 25, 2026, officers from the Chestermere RCMP interrupted an active catalytic converter theft near Kinniburgh Bay in Chestermere, Alberta. Police on proactive patrol located one individual beneath a parked vehicle and a second person acting as a lookout.
When officers moved in, the primary suspect was arrested at the scene while allegedly attempting to remove a catalytic converter from a gold Honda CR-V. The second, unidentified suspect ran away on foot and has not yet been found. A police dog was brought in to assist in the search, but that person remains outstanding.
