RCMP Alert: Serious Youth Assault in Yarmouth

A serious assault has occurred in Yarmouth, sparking a significant response from the local RCMP. On July 19, around 4:30 p.m., two youths walking on a trail near Clements Ave were confronted by a man. This encounter quickly turned violent, resulting in one youth sustaining life-threatening injuries and being hospitalized.

The suspect, identified as Jordan Scott Surette, 25, was arrested at the scene. Following his arrest, Surette attacked responding officers but was subdued and is now facing multiple charges. Another individual, Joel Thistle-Wallace, 19, was also involved and charged for failing to comply with a release order.
