Traffic Safety Blitz: 220 Tickets Issued in Lloydminster, SK
Community Safety Alert for Lloydminster and Area
Between June 5 and June 7, 2026, officers with Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic Services conducted an intensive traffic safety operation in and around the Saskatchewan side of Lloydminster. Over the three-day initiative, police stopped 429 vehicles, issuing a total of 220 tickets and suspending seven drivers’ licences linked to alcohol and drug use before driving.
The operation focused on roads east of Highway 17 in Lloydminster, as well as the communities of Paradise Hill and St. Walburg in Saskatchewan. Most drivers were screened for alcohol and/or drug impairment, with police targeting high-risk behaviours such as impaired driving, speeding, seatbelt violations and distracted driving. This enforcement activity supports broader road safety trends and risk patterns identified in regional data, including those reflected in the Lloydminster (Part), Saskatchewan crime and safety statistics.
Official RCMP Enforcement Details
According to the RCMP, this coordinated traffic safety initiative brought together five Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic Services officers and one Prince Albert Police Service officer from Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTSS) units based in Regina, Moose Jaw, Melfort, Saskatoon and Prince Albert. Together, they patrolled major routes to and from the Lloydminster area and nearby communities, aiming to identify dangerous drivers and reinforce safe driving habits.
During the three days of enforcement, the following actions were taken:
- Seven driver’s licence suspensions in total, including:
- 2 licence suspensions due to alcohol consumption before driving
- 5 licence suspensions due to drug consumption before driving
- 59 tickets for not wearing a seatbelt or wearing it improperly
- 64 tickets for speeding
- 97 tickets for using, holding, viewing or manipulating a cellphone while driving
- 251 written warnings issued to drivers for various offences
In total, officers interacted with hundreds of motorists over the three-day period, using both tickets and warnings to reinforce critical road safety behaviours. This kind of focused enforcement complements broader community safety monitoring, such as the citywide patterns tracked in the Lloydminster Crime Statistics & Safety Report, which helps residents understand evolving traffic and public safety risks in their area.
