RCMP Alert: Major Drug and Cash Seizure in Charlottetown

Significant Joint Enforcement Team Drug Bust in Charlottetown

The Joint Enforcement Team (JET), made up of officers from multiple police agencies on Prince Edward Island, has carried out a major drug enforcement operation in Charlottetown. On Friday, June 12, 2026, officers executed a search warrant at a residence and a storage unit, seizing a very large quantity of suspected illicit drugs, cash, illegal tobacco, and several prohibited weapons.

According to the official police report, investigators recovered hundreds of thousands of dollars in Canadian currency along with cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, methamphetamine pills, and tens of thousands of illegal cigarettes. A handgun, other prohibited weapons, ammunition, and drug-related equipment were also seized. One adult male suspect has been arrested and is now facing 19 criminal charges connected to the operation.

Official RCMP / JET Details

The search warrant in Charlottetown was carried out by the Joint Enforcement Team, a specialized unit that includes officers from Summerside Police Services, Kensington Police Services, PEI RCMP, and RCMP Eastern Region Federal Policing. During the search of the residence and storage unit, police report the following items were seized:

  • Approximately $300,000 in cash
  • More than 930 grams of cocaine
  • Approximately 600 grams of crystal methamphetamine
  • 8,650 methamphetamine pills (about 3.75 kilograms)
  • 50,600 illegal cigarettes
  • A .22-calibre handgun, additional prohibited weapons, and ammunition
  • Various drug paraphernalia and related equipment

Police note that cocaine and methamphetamine are commonly sold in quantities as small as half a gram to one gram, meaning the amounts seized represent a substantial volume of potential street-level trafficking.
