CrimeCanada.ca Safety Perspective
Vehicle thefts in smaller communities like Cumberland Bay and Minto can have a significant impact, especially when residents rely heavily on their vehicles for daily life and work. While overall crime patterns vary between regions, our national data—such as trends visible in communities like Carleton Place crime statistics and safety data—shows that quick community reporting often helps police recover stolen vehicles faster and can sometimes disrupt broader theft networks.
CrimeCanada.ca encourages New Brunswick residents to take basic precautions against vehicle theft: always lock your doors, avoid leaving keys or key fobs inside the vehicle, remove valuables from sight, and consider security lighting or cameras if parking outside. If you notice unfamiliar vehicles circling residential streets late at night, or individuals checking door handles, report this promptly to local police. Your vigilance and timely information-sharing are essential to building safer communities across New Brunswick.
