CrimeCanada.ca Safety Perspective
From the perspective of CrimeCanada.ca, alerts about wanted individuals facing allegations such as assault, criminal harassment, and breaches of probation are critical for community safety across Nova Scotia. These cases often involve ongoing risk to specific individuals and the broader public, and swift community reporting can materially reduce harm. While our national crime statistics—such as those we publish for communities like Peawanuck, Ontario crime and safety data—give a big-picture view, incidents like this remind us that vigilance at the local level is equally important.
Residents are encouraged to stay aware of their surroundings, avoid direct engagement with anyone they believe to be wanted by police, and report suspicious activity promptly. If you think you recognize Patriquin from the RCMP photo or description, do not confront him. Instead, move to a safe location and contact 902-254-2424, your local police, or Crime Stoppers. Community cooperation with law enforcement is a key part of preventing violence and ensuring that people subject to warrants are brought before the courts safely and lawfully.
