RCMP Arrest After Overnight Residential Break-In in Macklin

The incident began at approximately 1:00 a.m. on July 10, 2026, when Unity RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a residence in Macklin, SK. An investigation led officers to determine that an adult male had entered the home unlawfully. When confronted by the adult female occupant, an altercation occurred before the male left the scene.
RCMP officers initiated a search for the suspect and located him in Macklin at about 3:45 a.m.. He was arrested without further incident and later treated in hospital for injuries described as non-life-threatening. The female victim did not report serious physical injuries to police.
As part of the ongoing investigation, a 51-year-old man has been charged in connection with this event:
- Accused: 51-year-old Corey Kristenson from Montreal Lake Cree Nation
- Charge 1: Break, enter and commit the indictable offence of assault, contrary to Section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
- Charge 2: Mischief under $5,000, contrary to Section 430(4) of the Criminal Code
The accused is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on July 15, 2026 (Information #90641759).
