RCMP Investigate In-Custody Death in PEI

Prince Edward Island RCMP are conducting an investigation following the death of a prisoner in their 50s at a provincial correctional facility. The individual was discovered unresponsive during routine checks in the early hours of July 16.

Emergency medical teams were immediately contacted, but tragically, the prisoner was declared deceased at the scene. At present, there is no evidence suggesting foul play, and the RCMP are working closely with the Coroner’s Office on the matter.
