North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are actively investigating two suspicious fires occurring within a short period in the region. On July 22, 2026, emergency responders dealt with a significant structure fire on Festubert Street, Duncan, which necessitated the evacuation of neighboring homes and resulted in damage to vehicles and residential buildings.

The following day, a vehicle fire was swiftly contained on Dingwall Street in North Cowichan. This incident too affected a nearby vehicle. Both fires are being examined with suspicion by the RCMP, and their Investigation Support Team is appealing for public assistance.
