An individual who was lost in the woods near Pabineau Lake, New Brunswick, was found uninjured on Oct. 31 after the RCMP and its policing partners responded to a call for service, police said. He was also unaffected by the weather conditions.
Members of the Chaleur Region RCMP detachment received a report of the person being lost at approximately 4:47 p.m., according to the New Brunswick RCMP. Police arrived at the scene a short time later, along with other resources involved in the response.
The response included a New Brunswick RCMP remotely piloted aircraft system, Police Dog Services and members of the provincial Department of Justice and Public Safety, police said. The individual was located at approximately 9:30 p.m. following the co-ordinated response.
The New Brunswick RCMP's Air Services and Chaleur Region Ground Search and Rescue were also scheduled to help. The individual was safely located before either attended, police said.
Sgt. Jean-François Dulac of the Chaleur Region RCMP thanked those who helped during the call for service. “At times, it doesn’t take much exposure to the elements before it threatens a person’s wellbeing,” Dulac said. “The RCMP remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals in need of help.”
