Each year, over 400 Canadians lose their lives in preventable water accidents, highlighting the need for awareness.

The RCMP advises all Canadians to observe these crucial water safety tips: wearing a lifejacket, supervising children and non-swimmers, and staying sober around water. Additionally, individuals are urged to always swim with company, be aware of water conditions, know how to swim, and avoid diving into shallow waters. With these practices, the risk of drowning can be significantly reduced.
