Tragic Collision on Highway 1 Near Piapot, SK
On the afternoon of July 20, 2026, a serious collision occurred on Highway 1 near Piapot, Saskatchewan. The Maple Creek RCMP reported that the incident involved a parked semi-truck and an SUV. Sadly, three passengers in the SUV lost their lives at the scene. The victims were two women aged 49 and 72, and a 75-year-old man, all from Estevan, SK. A fourth occupant sustained severe injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The driver and passenger in the semi-truck were unharmed. The highway faced temporary closure but has since reopened.
