Rosthern RCMP have launched an investigation following a tragic incident on July 19, 2026, where a pedestrian was struck and killed on Highway #212 near Duck Lake, Saskatchewan. The incident occurred around 3:45 a.m., approximately eight kilometres west of the town.

The victim, identified as a 33-year-old woman from Beardy’s and Okemasis Cree Nation, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services. The driver involved remained at the location, and neither the driver nor the passenger reported any injuries. A Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
