RCMP Seize Cocaine in East Hants Drug Trafficking Arrest

The East Hants RCMP have successfully concluded a drug trafficking investigation with the arrest of two individuals in Mill Village. On the evening of July 21, RCMP officers stopped a vehicle on Mill Village Rd. in Shubenacadie, leading to the seizure of crack cocaine, cash, and other items.

The investigation initially began in March, targeting drug trafficking in the Sipekne’katik community. During the traffic stop, the vehicle attempted to flee but was re-stopped on Indian Rd. The incident resulted in the arrest of a 38-year-old man and Ashley Rose Kent, 35. A subsequent search turned up no additional evidence.

Official Details

• A 38-year-old man from Sipekne’katik was released on conditions pending a future court appearance.
• Ashley Rose Kent appeared in Shubenacadie Provincial Court, charged with:
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (crack cocaine)
  • Resist Arrest
  • Assault a Peace Officer (three counts)

  Kent was released and is scheduled to appear in court on September 14.

• Seized items: crack cocaine, cash, two cell phones, a Jeep Cherokee.
