Algonquin Highlands, Ontario — Two men wanted on Canada-wide warrants have been apprehended in Ontario concerning a substantial financial crime. Conducted by the RCMP Federal Policing Northwest Region’s Integrated Market Enforcement Team with support from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the arrests highlight cooperation between provincial law enforcement to combat fraudulent activities.

On May 26, 2026, the OPP’s Haliburton Highlands Detachment discovered the fugitives, aged 44 and 70, during a routine call. Both were arrested without incident and returned to Alberta, where they are accused of embezzling nearly $5 million from investors through a day trading company.

• Charges: Laundering proceeds of crime over $5,000, Fraud over $5,000, and Theft, as per the Criminal Code.
• Court Appearances: The 70-year-old will appear in court on June 22, 2026, and the 44-year-old on June 24, 2026 in Calgary, Alberta.
