On the morning of June 22, 2026, officers from Westlock RCMP responded to a report of a possibly impaired driver leaving the Provincial Court of Justice building in Westlock, Alberta. The call came in around 9:00 a.m., indicating that a man who had attended a probation-related appointment was believed to be under the influence of alcohol and was departing in a vehicle.

Police located the vehicle, described as a grey van, and conducted a traffic stop. During the impaired driving investigation, the driver refused to provide breath samples as required by law. The man, a 33-year-old resident of Busby, Alberta, was arrested and now faces multiple criminal and provincial charges connected to this incident.

After leaving his probation appointment, he was observed departing the area, prompting a call to police.
