In the early morning of June 19, 2026, Swan River RCMP responded to a violent assault involving a machete on Sapotaweyak Cree Nation in Manitoba. A man walking along Sapotaweyak Maskanow Road was attacked by two other men known to him, leading to serious injuries and an emergency response by police and medical services.
