Community Alert: Manslaughter Charge After Death on Saulteaux First Nation

RCMP Homicide Unit Lays Manslaughter Charge

In the early morning hours of June 5, 2026, Saskatchewan RCMP responded to a report of a seriously injured man at a residence on Saulteaux First Nation, Saskatchewan. When officers arrived around 4:00 a.m., emergency medical services declared the victim deceased at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as 53-year-old Leonard Moccasin of Saulteaux First Nation. His family has been notified and are being supported by victim services. Following an investigation by the Saskatchewan RCMP Homicide Investigation Unit (HIU), a 30-year-old man has now been charged with manslaughter in connection with his death.

  • Bradley Redbear, 30, of Saulteaux First Nation, Saskatchewan, is charged with:
    One (1) count of Manslaughter, contrary to Section 236(a) of the Criminal Code (laid on June 6, 2026).
  • Court appearance: He is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on June 8, 2026.
