RCMP Alert: Stolen Vehicles Recovered in Meadowvale

Annapolis District RCMP recently addressed a serious incident involving stolen vehicles in Meadowvale, Nova Scotia. On July 17, officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle parked at a residence on Highway 201. Upon arrival, a male suspect assaulted an officer and fled on foot. A female accompanying him was safely taken into custody.

The swift response included multiple RCMP units, such as the Southwest Nova Street Crimes Enforcement Unit, Police Dog Services, and aerial support. Officers combed the area and arrested James Carl Stoddard, 43, in a nearby yard before he fled again into a wooded area. Stoddard, who has been charged with several offenses, made his first court appearance on July 20.

• Charges include: Assaulting a Peace Officer, Resist Arrest (two counts), Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (two counts), and Failure to Comply with Release Order.
• Two stolen vehicles recovered: a Dodge Grand Caravan and a Kawasaki KLX300 motorcycle.
• James Carl Stoddard remains in custody pending further court proceedings.
• The female associate was released pending further investigation.
