RCMP Alert: High-Speed Chase on Ebb and Flow First Nation

On July 16, the Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP apprehended a male individual following a high-speed chase in the Ebb and Flow First Nation community. The incident began around 4:35 p.m. when officers observed a truck dangerously exceeding the speed limit near a community park. The vehicle’s speed and description matched that of a truck that had previously eluded officers.

After evading an initial attempt to stop it, the vehicle made its way into a swampy field, briefly stopping to let out a passenger before continuing recklessly. A spike belt was eventually deployed, successfully bringing the escape to an end near Road 130 North. The driver and a passenger are now facing multiple charges.

  • Flight from peace officer
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Operation while impaired
  • Impaired over 0.08 per cent

  • Failure to comply with probation orders
• The passenger, also 22, faces charges of:
  • Resisting/obstructing a peace officer
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Flight from peace officer
