What police say about stunting

The RCMP describes stunting as risky behaviour while operating a motor vehicle. Its examples include driving at high speeds, racing other vehicles, burnouts, donuts and wheelies, as well as other intentionally dangerous driving.

In Newfoundland and Labrador, stunting can lead to serious charges under the Highway Traffic Act and the Criminal Code, police said. Possible consequences include licence suspensions, vehicle impoundments, fines and jail time.

Police also warned that stunting can put the driver's life and the lives of others at risk.
