Saanich Police are asking for help finding 18-year-old Jordyn, who was last seen at about 3 p.m. on Nov. 5 as she left her home in the 2800 block of Wyndeatt Avenue.

Jordyn is five feet six inches tall and has short brown hair, police said. She was wearing a blue flower-print dress when she was last seen.

Police policy on missing-person releases

The department said it no longer routinely shares the last names of people who are the subject of missing-person releases. It makes an exception when there is an investigative reason to release a surname.

Police said the decision was made with the well-being of missing people and their families in mind. The department said the impact of publishing a full name can last forever, so its releases will provide a first name, a description and a photo.

When the department updates a missing-person release, it said it will share only whether the person has been located, without providing additional details. Police said that decision was made with the privacy of the individuals and their families in mind.

How to help

Anyone who may have seen Jordyn or knows where she is is asked to contact Saanich Police at 250-475-4321.
